The Light Amidst the Clouds

“While the earth remains, seed time and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, shall not cease.” (Genesis 8:22)
Has this winter seemed long to you?
It has to me.
We have had a lot of illness, and a lot of rain.
I usually enjoy the rain, but somehow this winter got to me.
I noticed it affecting my attitudes. I was snapping at my husband, without a valid reason. I felt tired and drained.
I decided to sit at my desk and write.
Often that is when the Lord speaks to me.
As I sat at my little desk, looking out at my saturated lawn, and the never ending gray clouds, something happened.
I noticed how unique some of the clouds were. They were moving and changing, and then I saw
it. The bit of blue behind the clouds. That lovely blue sky I had been craving. And the sun.
The clouds were still there, but so was the sun. It actually highlighted the clouds in a lovely way.
That brought a smile to my face, and caused me to ponder.
When life seems dark or discouraging, it can feel like those clouds that never go away.
Where is the light?
Where is God?
But though we can’t see the sun, it’s still there. And God is still there.
He promises to never leave us nor forsake us.
And when the sun does break through the clouds, it is glorious!
So whether you are under the clouds right now, or basking in the sun, God is with you.
Let his light shine through.
I pray blessings for you and yours.
