How to Love Him, When He’s Unlovely

When he’s confused and angry,

I feel like I’m losing him.

He wants answers to questions that make no sense.

He wants me to fix things that aren’t broken.

I’m weary, I’m spent.

But I still love him.

Lord, help me love him.

How can I help his confusion?

How can I help him understand?

How can I heal his mind?

I can’t.

I just need to love him, when he’s unlovely.

Help me Lord to love him.

It’s hard, I feel unable, inadequate to help.

I’m so, so tired.

But you love him Lord,

And you love me...

When I’m confused,

When I’m angry,

When I don’t understand.

You still love me.

So, please help me Lord to love him,

even when he’s unlovely.
