Is Your Fear Bigger Than Your God?

How often are we plagued by fear?

Fear for ourselves, our families, our health, or our finances, can wreak havoc in our hearts and minds. 

I like this quote,

          ”If we allow fear to be the lens we look through,

                  then we see fear in everything.”

Fear robs us of our joy and peace.

But how many times in the Bible does it say, “Fear not…”?

Over 80 times. 

That makes me think of two things.

First, God knows and understands that as humans in this world we will face fear.

Second, since He says, “Fear not…” in so many verses, He must have a solution, a way for us to combat that fear.

Isaiah 41:10- “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.”

If the God of the universe who loves us and says He is with us in whatever we are going through, we can trust Him.

Psalm 34:4- “I sought the Lord and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.”

I thought it interesting it doesn’t say He removes every tough situation in our lives, but He delivers us from fear that enslaves us.

I have lived enough years to know, God doesn’t always take us out of the storm,

But, He promised to walk through it with us.

Lastly, I love this quote from my mom’s journal.

        “Fear means I am only seeing my insignificant self,

                       and not the magnificence of God,

                   who holds me in the palm of his hand.”

When fear overwhelms, look up and see God.
